Susan Dennard är lite av en auto-buy författare för mig trots att jag inte ens läst hennes böcker än. Jag ska försöka läsa hennes tidigare trilogi, Something Strange and Deadly, innan jag börjar med den här.

Jag är riktigt nyfiken på hur den här handlingen kommer att utspela sig och ska bli riktigt intressant att läsa om kinesisk folklore också! Sen är det ju ett plus att det är en standalone för det finns så många serier.

Under en insats i Kosovo blir löjtnant Jasmin Pascal-Anderson skjuten och hennes hjärta står stilla under fyrtio sekunder. När hon återvänder till livet kan hon inte sluta tala om att döden börjar med en våldsam hamnstad där de styrande håller på att förlora kontrollen över den organiserade brottsligheten.

Jasmin behandlas för sin krigspsykos, lämnar det militära och försöker leva ett stillsamt liv när någonting fruktansvärt händer. Tillsammans med sin femårige son hamnar hon i en bilolycka. Ingen kan svara på om de många vittnesmålen från tillfälligt döda bara beror på att hjärnan reagerar panikartat på syrebristen som uppstår när hjärtat står stilla. Men Jasmin törs inte ta risken. Hon vet att hennes son inte kommer att klara sig tillbaka till livet på egen hand om hamnstaden finns på riktigt.

Den andra sidan är en mycket farlig plats och farligast av allt är lekplatsen – playground.

Kepler är en auto-read författare så givetvis ser jag fram emot att läsa Playground också. Jag vet inte riktigt vad jag har att förvänta mig av den här nya sidan av Kepler, men jag tror och hoppas det är något som jag kommer tycka lika mycket om som jag gör med böckerna om Joona Linna.

Historiska romaner är en av favoriterna inom genrer. Det första omslaget (här) var SÅ otroligt fint och jag bara älskade den. När de sedan bytte omslag till denna så blev jag besviken och tappade lite intresse för den, men jag vill ändå läsa den och hoppas den kommer vara bra.

Jag har väldigt höga förväntningar på den här så jag hoppas verkligen att jag inte blir besviken! För det första är omslaget to die for, jag bara älskar den och för det andra så låter handlingen right up my alley. Den är redan förhandsbeställd och väntar så på att få den i mina händer. Jag har bara läst Wither än så länge av DeStefano, men gillar verkligen hennes skrivsätt och språk så ser fram emot att läsa den här boken, som är en middle-grade.

Sarah J. Maas nya serie som kommer ut nästa vecka! Jag har inte ens läst hennes första serie än, men blir lika taggad över vad hon än ger ut. Fast jag tror att jag kommer läsa de tre första böckerna i Throne of Glass serien innan jag börjar på den här.

Kommentar: Jag har SÅ höga förväntningar på den här, men är lite orolig över att det inte riktigt har den riktning som jag vill, men vi får se. Kanske den överraskar mig. Omslaget är så snyggt! Definitivt en bok som jag kommer att köpa inom nästa månad.

Jag hade tänkt läsa Enklav på engelska, men nu kommer den så passligt ut på svenska av Modernista. Har hört bra om den här trilogin så ser fram emot att läsa den.

Red Queen är första boken i en ny trilogi som är ganska hypad i bokvärlden just nu. Jag förhandsbeställde den och ser verkligen fram emot att få läsa den i februari (eller mars) och jag hoppas den lever upp till hypen som jag sett runt på olika ställen.

Som om det inte vore nog måste Cate dessutom försöka få Finn att minnas vad de hade tillsammans. Efter Mauras svek har Finn inget minne av Cate längre. Och Tess syner blir allt starkare, profetian om att en Cahillsyster kommer att döda en annan verkar inte längre osannolik.

 

Kommentar

Jag längtar så efter att läsa den tredje och avslutande delen i trilogin om systrarna Cahill och undrar hur det kommer att gå för dem alla. Jag hoppas bara att biblioteket får in boken snabbare, för med andra boken så fick jag vänta i litet över ett halvår..

Den här kommer ju egentligen ut på engelska i februari 2015, men Modernista ger ut den redan nu i november. Yay! Jag tror inte att jag har läst någon bok där rymden är miljön. Ska bli intressant läsning.

Jag vill läsa alla böcker i The Mortal Instruments (2 böcker kvar) och The Infernal Devices (2 böcker kvar) innan jag börjar med The Bane Chronicles, men jag ser verkligen fram emot att läsa de här 10 novellerna om Magnus. Och jag är rätt så glad att de kommer som en hel bok och inte bara som e-böcker.
